ULTRA LONG RANGE
BOMBARDIER
GLOBAL 5500 SERIES
SEATS UP TO 14 PASSENGERS
Typically configured in a 3 zone layout, this aircraft from the Global series is a popular choice for charter.
The Global 5500 is the smallest in the Global family, but don’t be deterred, with a cabin length of nearly 13 metres, there is still plenty of room for up to 14 passengers.

Design wise, we would say the Global 5500 (older versions include the Global 5000) is in between Bombardier's Challenger 850 and Global 6000. The range of the aircraft has some 5000+ nautical miles, making it more than capable of performing transatlantic & Caribbean flights, something the Challenger 850 wasn’t conceived to do.
The cabin layout has three zones (forward reception, dining in the middle and rear state room for sleeping). The aircraft does have a shorter galley than the other series of Global aircraft, and no forward crew rest area, which is important to some who may have the need for ultra long flights greater than 14 hours, statistically less common than the duration of a traditional trip request.

Commercially one would expect this to be more economical than the Global 6000, so for short trips it is definitely a consideration without making any sacrifice to comfort. However, as an alternative, the Challenger 850 could be more economical and just that little bit bigger in the cabin.

The baby of all Bombardier Globals, this aircraft still has the same spacious width and height of the bigger Global family.
