SUPER MIDSIZED JET
CESSNA
CITATION SOVEREIGN
SEATS UP TO 9 PASSENGERS
If you're looking for an 8 individual seat option, the Sovereign normally is a good all-rounder, renowned for its exceptional performance, range, and spacious cabin.
The Citation Sovereign is a Super Midsized Jet which can seat up to 9 passengers, but normally in a double club for 8 passengers. Equipped with advanced avionics systems, including an integrated flight deck, weather radar, and terrain awareness, the Sovereign ensures enhanced safety and situational awareness. It does have stiff competition with the historically successful Hawker 900 series, the smaller Citation XLS series and its super fast brother, the Citation X.

In terms of cabin space, the Citation Sovereign and Citation X have very similar layouts. The Citation X however, with its significantly larger engines, is much faster than the Sovereign but this is at the same time detrimental to its fuel economy. Two very similar aircraft cabins, but the Sovereign has the lower operational cost.

The next benefit the Citation Sovereign has above the Citation XLS and Citation X is its better, shorter field performance, allowing a less restrictive operation into shorter airfields like Oxford Kidlington. Additionally, compared to the Citation XLS specifically, the Citation Sovereign has a much greater range.

Later models such as the Citation Sovereign+, with its blended winglets, have improved the performance again, making it become one of the smallest to perform direct transatlantic routes from US to Europe (unfortunately the aircraft programme was retired in 2021 to be superseded by the Citation Latitude & Longitude).

The Sovereign is good for ski and shooting trips, and we would expect this aircraft to be the most economical option in fair market conditions, against rival models such as the Challenger 350 and Gulfstream G280.
